FAIRSPACE: a winner of the VCÖ Mobility Award 2021
PRISMA planning tool awarded for "fair" distribution of space

We are therefore particularly pleased that “FAIRSPACE - active mobile use of space in urban areas” was chosen as the winning project at this year's VCÖ mobility award in the “Research and Scientific Studies” category! Our partners in this BMK and FFG funded project were the Vienna University of Technology (Institute for Transport Science, Research Area for Transport Planning and Technology) and Besch + Partner Transport Engineers.
On September 24th, 2021, the VCÖ Mobility Prize, which is an annual indicator for outstanding projects in the mobility sector, was awarded to FAIRSPACE. Our significant contribution to the project is a planning tool that provides traffic planners and the public sector with a tool to identify inefficiently used areas in the street and enables them to objectively argue "fair" street cross-sections: anamorphic maps - they map the index of the area-time - enable “space hogs” to be identified at a glance.

But FAIRSPACE is not the only project in which PRISMA is involved as a partner or in a leading role. Two more projects were also selected in the TOP 5 in the same category "Research and Scientific Studies":

- Bicycle Observatory - on the pulse of bicycle traffic
